mono sound, black and white. (Also known as Dan Matthews)
Reviews: The Motion Picture Guide (MPG) and
Variety critics agreed that this movie was awful. "A mediocre
adaptation," said MPG. "Pretty creaky film fair
today." Variety used almost the same words, ". . . a
slow article and creaky film material."
Richard Arlen plays Dan Matthews, a preacher out to
clean up the gambling and vice in "Old Town." (Eric
Tudor, who has seen the movie says this "Old Town" looks more
like Chicago than Lebanon, Missouri, the setting of Harold Bell
Wright's novel.)

Writing/Screenplay: Dan Jarrett, Don Swift,
Karl Brown, (based on the novel by Harold Bell Wright.)
