Bennett Spring
Tinted Postcards
Bennett Spring State Park, known in its
early years as the town of Brice, Missouri, is located 12 miles west of
Lebanon. This is where Harold Bell Wright, soon to be the nation's
top-selling novelist, relaxed and fished during the years (1905-1907) he served as pastor of the Lebanon, Missouri
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Bennett Spring plays an
important role in Wright's book, The Calling of Dan Matthews. I
have included below several tinted and chrome cards of Bennett Spring.

Spring. Bennett is often spelled without the second
"t," and Spring is often spelled with a final "s."
Bennett Spring produces about 100 million gallons of water each day.
The river that flows from the spring is a tributary to the Niangua River.
