Gerry Chudleigh's Search Tips:
1. Try to search for a word or phrase that is not
included in the menu down the left side of every page on this Harold
Bell Wright website. For example, if
you search for "Barbara Worth," you will get a list of every page on the
Harold Bell Wright Website--because those words are included in the menu on
every page whether there is anything on that page about Barbara Worth or not. But if you search for "Winning" you will get only about 98
pages-- probably the pages you want.
2. When you get to a page that is supposed to have the word
or phrase that you searched for, but you don't see the word or phrase,
click Control-F on your keyboard. In the Find window that pops
up, or appears at the bottom of the screen, enter the word or phrase and click on "Find Next." Click on it
repeatedly until you have seen every instance of the word or phrase on that
page.
3. If you are getting too many results that you don't want,
use quotation marks for names or phrases. For example, if you search
in Google for Barbara Worth (without quotation marks) you will get over 13
million results. But if you search for "Barbara Worth" you get only 76,000
results.
4. To narrow your search more, add more words. For
example, if you are searching for information about Harold Bell Wright's
relationship with Gary Cooper in the 1926 movie, The Winning of Barbara
Worth, search for "Barbara Worth" "Gary Cooper" "Harold Bell Wright" movie
1926. That will narrow your search to only about 100 pages. But don't
go too far with this. If you search for "Harold Bell Wright's relationship
with Gary Cooper" you will find no results — expect this Tips page — because
this is the only page in the world with that exact phrase on it.
